We are thrilled to welcome Carrie Closter to our coaching staff. She will be coaching our 9th grade (15U) girls team. Some of Carrie’s accomplishments are listed below.
Ida High School (2010) Earned eight varsity letters in basketball, cross country, softball and track … Led the Blue Streaks to four Lenawee Country championships in basketball, two in cross country and another in softball … Helped her teams on the basketball court to a 78-12 record in four years. Was a two-time (2009, ’10) All-LCAA and Monroe County All-Region selection on the hardwood … Named Ida’s Offensive Player of the Year as a junior and senior (2009, ’10) … Led the Blue Streaks to a pair of undefeated regular seasons (2009, ’10) … After graduation went on to play collegiate basketball at Madonna University for four years. Currently an assistant varsity girls’ basketball coach at Livonia Churchill High School.
K’Len Morris is joining our staff to coach the 11th grade girls this year. K’Len was a four year starter in high school starting his career at Redford Union before moving to Grand Blanc High School where he went on to graduate. K’Len was a two time All-State athlete in both basketball and track in 2005 and 2006. During his career in high school he was invited and played in the NBA Top 100 camp along with the Adidas Superstar camp. After graduating he went on to play collegiate basketball at the University of Michigan for two years before finishing his career and graduating from Grand Valley State University. He is now in his second year as the Girl’s Head Varsity Coach at Livonia Churchill where he lead the school to their first ever district championship in 2016.
Last weekend, our 8th grade boys and our 11th grade boys both won championships. Our 8th grade boys beat the Michigan Warriors to win the championship. Our 11th grade boys beat Flushing Elite and 1Nation to win the 17U championship. Great job fellas!
Congratulations to our 17U boys team for winning the silver bracket of the 2016 Warrior Jam! Great job men!
Just call them butter, because they are on a roll! Our 9th grade girls team just won their second tournament in a row. The weekend before last, they won the Saline Super Shootout. This weekend, they did it again! Great job ladies. Keep it rolling!
